Phase 03 — Identify Losses
We hunt down what slows you down.
Before building anything, we search for what wastes time. Duplicate entries, multiplied Excel sheets, re-keying, omissions, unshared data.
Why identify losses
You cannot improve what you do not measure.
A business can waste hours every week without realizing it. Losses are often invisible because they become habits. Our job is to make them visible.
🔄 Duplicate Entries
The same information entered twice or thrice — in Excel, software, or paper.
📂 Fragmented Files
Excel workbooks duplicated, renamed, lost. Outdated versions everywhere.
⏳ Delays & Omissions
Manual follow-ups, dragging approvals, information that never arrives.
What we search for
The seven information losses.
1. Data Entry
Re-entering data already available elsewhere.
2. Search & Retrieval
Searching for information that is not immediately accessible.
3. Validation
Validation workflows delaying decision-making.
4. Data Transfer
Information passed manually from one tool to another.
5. Correction
Errors caused by manual entries or stale data.
6. Synchronization
Out-of-sync data across various software tools.
7. Decision Making
KPIs arriving too late or lacking accuracy.
What we do NOT do
Errors we avoid.
- • ✗ Automating a process before simplifying it.
- • ✗ Adding software to solve an organizational problem.
- ✗ Developing without having measured potential gains.
- ✗ Ignoring frontline feedback on true bottlenecks.
Next Phase
Organize & Design.
Once losses are identified, we redesign information flows.
